Lens calibration requires the camera to be a minimum distance from the target depending on the focal length of the lens used.
This check will report if your camera is too near or too far from the target.
The Target Distance Tool within FoCal is an interactive way to see how the distance requirement changes with focal length, and allows you to check the appropriate distance for the lens you wish to test.
