Just connect with the USB cable supplied with your camera and you're all set to go.
Automatically adjust your camera and lens autofocus at the touch of a button!
Adjusting your autofocus for sharper shots really is simple. Put your camera on a tripod, put the target on the wall then run the Fully Auto calibration.
You'll be able to watch as FoCal controls the camera to captures and analyse shots then locks in on the perfect setting.
With the FoCal Comparison Database, you'll be able to compare your camera and lens against 1000's of other users too to get a real idea of how your kit performs.
Those lenses you thought were great... Watch them get even better!
Have confidence in your results
To get the best results from FoCal you do need things set up properly. But you don't have to follow a check-list - just use the Target Setup utility to check everything for you!
The Target Setup utility checks the camera and target positions, light levels, camera, lens and program settings and many other things to ensure everything is just right before you run tests.
Analyse files you've captured manually.
If you've got a set of files you want to analyse, you can run them through most FoCal tests in File Mode.
FoCall will figure out all the settings from the files, analyse and give you the results.
Take a quick look at basic details of your camera.
With one shot, FoCal can give you lots of information about your camera. From basic information like the camera type, to more complex details like the pixel pitch, FoCal will tell you everything it can find.
Save you camera configuration to file and load it again later.
Use this tool to make a backup of the camera settings FoCal adjusts.
Software Updates for 12 months from purchase.
We are constantly updating FoCal - adding new camera support, new features and making it even better.
When you buy FoCal, you get 12 months of updates from your purchase date. After this, you can buy another 12 months at a reduced cost.
FoCal runs on both Windows and Mac computers.
Windows is supported from Windows 7 and later, and Mac is supported from OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) and later.
One license lets you run on both systems, so you can use FoCal with your preferred platform.
How repeatable is your autofocus?
When you half-press that shutter button and your camera beeps, where is it really focusing?
The Autofocus Consistency test will automatically defocus and refocus a number of times and show you just how consistent the focus point is.
This tool can highlight camera and lens problems, including degradation of focus drive mechanism. Combined with the FoCal Comparison Database, you can know if you've got problems coming.
Which aperture is sharpest for your lens?
Lens performance changes with aperture. Most lenses are softer at each end of the aperture range, but how much depends on the lens and camera body.
Using the Aperture Sharpness test, you can see exactly where the best aperture is, and how much shooting wide open or stopped down will have on your images.
This tool can highlight lens problems as well, including misaligned lens elements and aperture mechanism issues. Combined with the FoCal Comparison Database, you can see exactly how well your lens is really working for you.
Directly compare all your focus points.
Are all your focus points as accurate as each other? Do they need different adjustment values?
In one tool, the MultiPoint Focus Test can show you how all your points compare and if one calibration value will suit all of them.
A wide range of different values across the focus points can highlight focus problems and you can take action.
Run any test at any focus point.
You don't just have to run tests on the centre focus point - you can choose any focus point and dig deep.
What's the autofocus consistency look like for each point? How about aperture sharpness? See how autofocus sensor alignment, lens element placement and lens image distortion can affect the performance of your camera and lens.
See how dust will really affect your shots.
Dust on your DSLR sensor is a fact of life. But how much dust is too much? Well, that depends on how you shoot... for example portrait photography can often tolerate a lot more dust than landscapes.
FoCal's Dust Analysis tool shows you where all the dust spots are. But more than that - it shows you what apertures they'll affect, what they look like up close and personal, and even how much they're likely to affect your images!
So use the Dust Analysis tool and make sure you don't risk your sensor by cleaning unnecessarily - a bit of dust doesn't always mean you'll see it in your images.
FoCal can make the best of any situation.
FoCal's Target Optimisation can automatically adjust the analysis in case of camera movement, image shift due to lens element misalignment and several other situations where a results may be compromised.
By shifting the analysis point, FoCal can give you the best results all the time.
Take a look at everything that can be measured!
With FoCal Pro, you can dig deep. Extra data is available to show focus consistency, astigmatism problems (caused by lens misalignment or poor quality), image motion due to movement in the lens, vignetting profiles, historical results comparison and even data from cameras that support Dual Pixel Raw.
If FoCal measures it, you can explore it with FoCal Pro.
All your results in one PDF.
Once you've run your test, you can save the comprehensive report. It shows all your results, all the image crops that were analysed and all the charts with explanations of how to interpret the data.
How does your kit compare?
You might have the best copy of a 50mm f/1.8 lens, or the worst copy of a 85mm f/1.2 lens... but how can you know?
With the FoCal Comparison Database, you can compare your results with 1000's of other FoCal users!
We carefully process uploaded results to build profile of typical behaviour of cameras and lenses, and feed this back to you so you can see at a glance how your equipment really compares.
Review every test you've run.
FoCal saves your results, so you can go back and compare how your camera and lens was performing.
The historical results contain all the details - you can go back and look at the charts and numbers to see if things are working as they used to.
Every possible camera. Supported.
FoCal supports all cameras that support the AF Microadjustment or AF Fine Tune functions from the manufacturers that give the ability to control from a computer.
That's everything from Canon EOS-1D Mark III and Nikon D3 released in 2007 through to the latest cameras.
Sometimes we have to wait for support software or documentation from the manufacturers, but as soon as we can we release updates to allow use with new cameras.
See the official supported camera list here.
