What’s New in FoCal 4.6 MR1

Welcome to FoCal 4.6 MR1

Building on top of the improvements in FoCal 4.6, this release brings full support for the Nikon Z5ii (including Snapshots functionality).

There is also an important update to operation on the Nikon Z-series cameras which resolves an issue where sometimes the results of calibrations were inconsistent.

There are also internal module updates and security fixes.

FoCal 4.6

This is a bit of an internal tidy-up release.

We’ve fixed a good number of minor bugs which will improve stability, reliability and in some rare cases accuracy of the results.

Camera control functionality for all cameras has been improved, reducing the load on the computer/mobile device during wait times, and improving handling of failures in communications.

License Requirements

FoCal 4.6 is available to anyone within their Included Updates Period as of 26th May 2025 – if you’ve bought FoCal or renewed your support less than 12 months before this date, you’re good to go.

If you don’t have support, head to www.reikanfocal.com/account and log in to purchase a further 12 months of updates for a reduced price. This will give you access to all new releases over the following 12 months (and you keep the version at the end of your support period), as well as FoCal Comparison Data to compare your gear with other users, and full use of the Premium features of both our mobile apps (just log in with your FoCal Pro username/password in the apps to activate).
